Cyprus

My wife and I lived in the north of Cyprus between the autumn of 2017 and the summer of 2018. From more or less a standing start we did our best to familiarise ourselves with the extraordinarily rich and turbulent politics and history of the island, exploring the ancient ruins and the modern towns, walking in the mountains and along the beaches, observing the wildlife, and making many new friends. Along the way I spent my time busily drawing and sketching and had the good fortune to be able to display my work in my own exhibition at the Centre for Visual Arts and Research (CVAR) in Nicosia. Subsequent visits to the island in 2019 yielded more drawings.
